I've finished a watercolour today. Scanning through my digiscoped photos, I found a nice Blackbird sitting amoung hawthorn berries. I decided to convert the photo into a painting.
The preliminary pencil drawing is quite complicatied:


I've started with the background colour mixing cobalt blue and burn sienna. I've used this mixture also for the shadows on the branches:


I've missed to photograph more stages, so next you can see the result. I've painted the bird last. The painting is 27 x 36 cm, on Arches watercolour paper. It's for sale for 280 EUR.
