I had a nice but terribly hot day yesterday in the Kiskunság area. I've been just driving around sketching birds from the shelter of my car. Here are some example.

A morning Lapwing (around 7 am):


A cooperative Montagu's Harrier, posing for some 20 minutes for me:

A White Stork protecting her chicks from the heat:


I've photographed this male Red-footed Falcon with colour ring. It was ringed as a chick 2 years ago in the Hortobágy region:

Beautiful. The heat really shows in the sketches. You make it look easy, but it takes tremendous skill!

But I think I',m very far from being skilled in watercolours. I would need much more practicing.
