Some more sketches of that lovely Coquette:

I wasn't quite satisfied with my sketches of this Colibri. Somehow I felt that I hadn't caught its tiny character. The reason for this was quite simple: on my A3 sized sheets I have painted them 4-5 times bigger than their real lifesize.

I would imagine it to be rather “fiddly” if you were to sketch it size 1:1. ;-)
Found this site where one can see its small size - “6,5 cm – 2.3 g”.

Fantastic collection os drawings! I saw that birds in a travel by Ecuador jungles and its colours and brightness are spectacular. Good works. All the best
